JALALABAD (Pajhwok): At least three people were killed and five others wounded in roadside bomb explosions and a targeted attack in Jalalabad city, capital of eastern Nangarhar province on Wednesday, officials said.
Local officials said that the incidents took place in the second, fourth and fifth police districts of Jalalabad city.
A health official in Nangarhar province who wished to go unnamed, told Pajhwok Afghan News that five people injured in two explosions in the second police district and one explosion in the fourth police district evacuated to Jalalabad Zonal Hospital today.
He said that the wounded included a civilian and four Taliban soldiers.
On the other hand, Nangarhar information and culture department said that three people were killed in an armed attack in the fifth police district of Jalalabad city.
The source said that all the victims of the attack were civilians and the incident took place around 9am today.
However, an eyewitness of the incident who wished to go unnamed, said that the dead included two Taliban soldiers and a civilian.
The attackers also seized weapons of the Taliban, the source said.
No groups have so far claimed responsibility for these attacks.
