FARAH CITY (Pajhwok): The governor of western Farah province in his first meeting with journalists on Thursday said that he would support media which should also discharge its responsibility of informing the public.
MualviHizbullah Afghani, governor of Farah province, met with journalists and representatives of media outlets, and said that he supported media and access to information was the right of all people.
He said that media should inform the public about the performance and activities of the government and do their job based on rules and Islamic framework. He added that officials would cooperate with the media society.
“It is the job of all members of the society to work honestly for the long suffered people of the nation and provide them with needed services,” he said.
Abdul Rahman, director of Radio Dunya in Farah, talking on behalf of other journalists in the meeting, termed such gatherings effective and thanked the governor of Farah for his attention to media.
He said that today’s meeting motivated journalists to keep their activities of publishing information to the public.
