KANDAHAR CITY (Pajhwok): Limited bank services and lack of coordination with relevant government authorities have hampered Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) activities, NGOs official said.

Eng. EsmatullahZahid, Southern Zone Coordinator of Acbar NGO, told Pajhwok Afghan News their organization has been working in Afghanistan since 1988 and their member orgnaisations were working in the areas of good governance, education, health, food security and human rights.

He said as a result of regime change and other changes in Afghanistan their and their affiliated organizations activities had been badly affected.

He asked Kandahar governor to ensure the provincial administration fully cooperated with NGOs.

He also demanded stoppage of wrong distribution of financial aid and said it should be ensured that the international aid reached deserving persons in the province.

Another NGO member said banking restrictions and lack of coordination between them and government institutions had complicated the situation and their activities had affected.

Governor Haji Mohammad Yousuf Wafa said that all local and international NGOs had been provided facilities to operate in Kandahar City and provinces.

He said relevant NGOs and other organizations should extend their support to Kandahar districts besides the provincial capital and ensure the distribution of aid to all.

Wafa also assured them of full support and pledged to contact the centre for further resolution of their problems.

It is worth mentioning that on Monday head of the Save the Children visited Kandahar province and met local officials.
