KABUL (Pajhwok): Afghanistan National Olympic Committee (NOC) on Sunday said a boxing tournament has been launched in eight zones of capital Kabul and no member of the Boxing Federation has left Afghanistan.
The president of NOC, Nazar Mohammad Mutmaen made the statements in a tweet on Sunday.
He said, “It is good news that no champion and member of Boxing Federation has left the country.”
He added that a tournament of boxing was also started between eight zones of Kabul city. Afghanistan Boxing Federation has a total of 25 members, he said.
This comes as around 150,000 Afghans left Afghanistan after Taliban took over Kabul around two and a half months ago. Those fled Afghanistan included journalists, singers, students and teachers of National Music Institute and others.
