A ceremony organized on the occasion was attended by the graduates, their families, officials of relevant departments and local officials.
Dr. QudratullahAhmadi, head of Malalai Institute of Higher Education, told Pajhwok Afghan News the institute had graduated 50 men and 10 women in its ninth term of medical graduation.
He added that the institute worked hard in educating students and hoped that the graduates would also work honestly for their people.
Malalai Institute of Higher Educationhas has so far graduated dozens of people in various fields of higher education and presented them for service to the community, he added.
MulaviMahmoodAzam, Kandahar governor’s spokesman, talking to the gathering, said that he was happy that 10 women and 50 men doctors were presented to the community for service.
He said that the government was making every effort to provide jobs opportunities to educated people.
With the graduation of these students, health problems would be reduced and people would be able to get better treatment in their own country instead of traveling abroad, Azam said.
The graduates were happy over completing their degree after years of studying, hard work and dedication and now able to serve their people.
Rahmania, a graduate doctor, told Pajhwok that in addition to serving her people in the health sector, she wanted to pursue further education as a specialist.
However, she and many other students called on the current government to provide them with job opportunities.
The graduation from the private institute in Kandahar comes as state-run universities remain closed since the fall of the previous government.
Officials say they are working on a higher education mechanism that, once completed, will allow state universities to reopen for students.
