GARDEZ (Pajhwok): A young-man has been killed on the eve of his wedding as a result of a land dispute in the Dand-i-Patan district of southeastern Paktia province, an official said on Tuesday.
The families of Haji Gul and Janat Khan traded fire in Satiwal village on Monday evening, resident Mohammad Din said.
As a result, Janat Khan’s son Mohammad Rahman was killed. Rahman’s wedding was scheduled to talk place today.
Paktia Information Director Khaliqyar Ahmadzai confirmed the firefight, which left another man injured. He said eight people had been arrested from both sides.
