TIRINKOT (Pajhwok): Over 1,000 farmers in southern Uruzgan and Samangan provinces received refined seed, urea and fruit drying machines, officials said on Tuesday.
Uruzgan Agriculture Department Official Rozi Khan said the process of distributing refined wheat seed and urea began from Tarinkot, the provincial capital, and will be extended to districts.
He said every farmer will get 50 kilogram of improved quality wheat seed and 100 kilograms of white and black urea.
Separately, 30 fruit drying machines were distributed to as many women farmers in Aibak, the capital of Samangan province, and Hazrat Sultan district.
The machines worth 926,400 afs had been provided by PACO and German BNZ organizations.
Samangan Agriculture Director Jundullah Farooqi thanked the two organizations for their support with women farmers.
He said the machinery will help prevent agriculture products from being wasted and would strengthen economic condition of women.
