Kabul: DABS workers protest for unpaid salaries

KABUL (Pajhwok): Dozens of Da Afghanistan Breshna Shirkat (DABS) employees on Monday staged a protest in Kabul over non-payment of their salaries.

One of the protesters, Saleem, told Pajhwok Afghan News that they had not received their salaries for the last three months.

He said that the power utility officials have been promising to pay their salaries since last two weeks, but they were just cheating them.

Pajhwok has obtained a video footage of the protest, which shows the protesters urging others to stop working until they are paid.

The protesters also chanted slogans "death to traitors and flatterers" and said "people's rights are sold to others".

Pajhwok shared the matter with officials of the power utility, but the officials did not reply.
