KUNAR (Pajhwok): Residents of eastern Kunar province on Thursday asked the government to reconstruct bridges on the Kunar River, saying the damaged bridges would be totally destroyed by winter rains if not reconstructed on time.
During the previous government, the Provincial Reconstruction Team (PRT) had built several bridges on the Kunar River, but they were recently damaged and unusable.
A bridge in Sheltan district on the Kunar River, built by the international community, has been destroyed since the past four months, disrupting the traffic on both sides.
