KANDAHAR CITY (Pajhwok): A 23-year-old woman has died by suicide after hanging herself in the Kalchabad area of Dand district in southern Kandahar province, reportedly due to domestic violence.
A reliable source told Pajhwok Afghan News that the woman and her husband were originally from Uruzgan province.
She had reportedly left her husband’s home and moved to her father’s house about five months ago because of domestic violence.
According to the source, the woman hanged herself on Thursday morning and died.
In a separate incident some time ago, a bride was shot dead on her wedding day in Dand district following a dispute between the groom and his maternal uncle over a car.
