KABUL (Pajhwok): The Ministry of Finance (MoF) on Sunday said the country’s exports in the last three months had more than doubled under the new government.
“Exports are an important part of any country’s economy, so the new caretaker government has been paying close attention to exports since day one,” the ministry said in a statement issued on Sunday.
According to the statement, the level of exports has increased significantly compared to the previous government and in the last three months (June, July and August) of the previous regime, the total exports of Afghanistan reached 11.581 billion afghanis. In the first three months (September, October and November) of the new system, the figure reached 26.830 billion afghanis.
According to the source, the significant surge in exports indicates 132 percent increase.
However, the ministry did not say to which countries the goods were exported, but said that 550 tonnes of pine nuts had been exported from Afghanistan to China recently.
