KABUL (Pajhwok): Fourteen Saudi Arabia diplomats have arrived in capital Kabul and resumed consular services at Saudi Arabia embassy in capital Kabul, an official said on Wednesday.
Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Abdul Qahar Balkhi tweeted: “A 14-member diplomatic team of Embassy of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Afghanistan returned to Kabul today, 30th November 2021, & resumed consular services for Afghans.”
“We welcome them, appreciate this profound step by the Saudi government & view it as start of good relations,” he said.
The United Arab Emirate (UAE) has already opened its diplomatic mission in the country, European Union, Germany and Japan have pledged to reopen embassy after assessing situation in Afghanistan.
