KABUL (Pajhwok): The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) has announced the formation of a 14-member committee to evaluate and standardise the sport in the country.
Abdul Wali Amin, Dawlat Khan Ahmadzai, Ahmad Shah Sulemankhel, Raees Khan Ahmadzai, Ehsan Obaid, Noorullah Malikzai, Salam Afghan, Nawroz Mangal, Taj Malook Alam, Allah Dad Noori, Mohammad Nazim Jar, Abdul Rahimzai, Minhaj Raz, Mohammad Khan and Shahid Alkozai are members of the committee.
Formed in line with the recommendation of the ACB leadership, the panel held its maiden meeting on Sunday.
ACB’s acting chief Mirwais Ashraf and Executive Director Naseeb Khan directed the committee members to study and report on the existing shortcomings and strengths of cricket in Afghanistan and share it with them.
Ashraf told the committee members: “We hope all aspects of cricket will be clarified. Where there are shortcomings, immediate steps should be taken to address them and standardisation of cricket should be priority.”
ACB CEO Naseeb Khan also emphasised on further development and promotion of cricket, saying that more work should be done in this regard.
