KUNDUZ CITY (Pajhwok): Three positive polio cases have been detected in the Imam Sahib district of northern Kunduz province, an official said on Thursday.
Kunduz Health Department Director Qari Anwar Bashir told Pajhwok Afghan News lately three positive polio cases surfaced in Imam Sahib district.
He said over 300,000 children had been administered polio vaccine during a campaign in Kunduz province recently.
GhulamJilaniAttaee, a senior official at Kunduz Zonal Hospital, said there was 55 percent surge in the administration of polio vaccination this time.
“Polio vaccination is still underway in some areas. Few months earlier due to conflict we were unable to administer polio drops to children in Imam Sahib district, therefore, new positive cases surfaced there,” he noted.
