KABUL (Pajhwok): China’s Foreign Ministry says pine nuts worth $16 million have been exported to China from Afghanistan in the past two months.
Lijian Zhao, China’s Foreign Ministry spokesman, tweeted: “Since Nov. 1, Afghan pine nuts have been flown to China on 26 chartered flights, generating more than US$16 million for Afghan people.
He said China would continue to help Afghanistan in economically with concrete measures.
Zhao did not specify how much pine nuts had reached China during the period, but a month ago, the Chinese ambassador in Kabul said that 550 tonnes of pine nuts had been exported in just 20 days.
