KABUL (Pajhwok): The government announced on Saturday abolishing two ministries and as many commissions, promising the entities would be revived in case of need.
Inamullah Samangani, deputy spokesman for the government, told Pajhwok Afghan News ministries of state on parliamentary and peace affairs, as well as the two electoral panels had been abolished.
He claimed the two ministries and the commissions were no longer needed. In case of need, he said, these institutions would be revived.
The Ministry of State for Peace, headed by Abdul Salam Rahimi, was established in 2019. It has largely been involved in peace talks with the Taliban.
