KABUL (Pajhwok): Afghanistan Civil Aviation Authority (ACAA) on Sunday said that three radar facilities which imported from France will be installed at Kabul, Balkh and Herat airports.
A statement from ACAA received by Pajhwok Afghan News states, "The first radar base is made ready for installation in Kabul; "The first consignment of national radar containing three radar bases arrived in Afghanistan from France and was delivered to the Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation at Kabul International Airport.”
The source read that installation of radar system worth 112 million Euros has been contracted with a French company Thales.
The facility would be installed in Kabul, Balkh and Herat provinces in a phased manner and a total of 12 towers would be installed in 12 points with the country’s airspace control before the end of 2023, the source concluded.
