Man shot dead; girl wounded by robbers in Baghlan

PUL-I-KHUMRI (Pajhwok): One individual has been killed and another wounded by armed robbers in northern Baghlan province, an official said on Saturday.

Maulvi Mustafa Hashimi, director of information, told Pajhwok Afghan News the robbers entered a house in the Kaprak area of Pul-i-Khumri on Friday night.

He said family members tried to stop the robbers but the outlaws opened fire on them. As a result, a man named Qari Shafiq was killed and a girl wounded.

The official added the security forces had launched an operation to arrest the robbers.

Abdullah Malang, director of public health, confirmed that a man’s body and a wounded girl had been evacuated to the civil hospital.

He said the girl in critical condition and taken to Kabul for better medical treatment.
