Kabul charity distributes breads to 300 needy families every day

KABUL (Pajhwok): A charity organization daily distributes breads (naan) among 300 destitute families in the Dashti Barchi area of ​​Kabul.

Abdullah Himmati, head of the charity, told Pajhwok Afghan News that poverty had increased in the country and he wanted to help needy families.

He said that dry breed was distributed to about 300 needy families daily and the process would continue for three months.

He added that families that have many members were given 10 breads and less than that were given six breads.  He says these people have been selected through a survey and are divided into three categories.

He added: “The first is those who do not have a head of household, the second is those whose head of household is elderly and the third is those whose head of household is disabled.”

He called on the country’s business community and the international community to support the charity so that it could expand its reach.

Abdullah, who receives breads from the charity, told Pajhwok Afghan News that the charity gives him 10 breads every day.

“I am unemployed, I have seven members in my family. This meal is not enough but I am thankful,” he said.

He called on the international community to increase its humanitarian assistance to the Afghan people in order to reduce poverty in the country.
