GARDEZ (Pajhwok): A 17-year-old girl has committed suicide in the Ahmadabad district of southeastern Paktia province, an official said on Thursday.
Police spokesman Umar told Pajhwok Afghan News the incident happened Malikhel area on Wednesday night.
Security officials had launched an investigation to unearth the reason behind the girl’s suicide, he added.
In Paktia, girls and women commit suicide largely due to domestic violence rooted in cultural issues.
