KABUL (Pajhwok): Afghanistan is at rock-bottom in terms of travel freedoms, says the first 2022 report by Henley & Partners.

Released on Wednesday, the Henley Passport Index is based on exclusive data provided by the International Air Transport Association (IATA), CNN reported.

Holders of the Afghan passport can travel to only 26 countries without requiring a visa in advance. The Iraqi passport holders can visit 28 destinations.

Iraq is followed by Syria (29), Pakistan (31), Yemen (33), Somalia (34), Nepal and Palestinian territories (37) and North Korea (39).

Holders of the passports at the top of its ranking — Japan and Singapore — can travel visa-free to 192 destinations — 166 more destinations than Afghan nationals.

South Korea is tied with Germany in second place (with a score of 190) and Finland, Italy, Luxembourg and Spain are all together in third place (with a score of 189).
