KABUL (Pajhwok):  The Indian premier and presidents of Central Asian states will discuss next week the regional security environment, particularly the situation in Afghanistan.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi would host the first India-Central Asia Summit in the virtual format on January 27, a media report said on Thursday.

Presidents of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan and Modi would hold talks on taking India-Central Asian ties to new heights, Deccan Chronicle reported.

They are also expected to exchange notes on the evolving security situation in the region, especially with regard to Afghanistan, the newspaper said.
