JALALABAD (Pajhwok): Eastern Nangarhar province has produced 550 tonnes of honey this year, says the Beekeeping Association.
The honey will account for at least 165 million afghanis, the association chief estimates.
He adds there are around 600 bee farms in the province, providing job opportunities to thousands of people.
Riaz Ahmad Rodwal, head of the association, told Pajhwok Afghanistan News the bee farms produced 550 tonnes of honey this year.
He said the Nangarhar honey, in great demand at the domestic level, was sent to different provinces. However, it is yet to find its way to the international market.
