ASADABAD (Pajhwok): Several people have been killed as a result of an avalanche in the Dangam district of eastern Kunar province.
A group of people, planning to cross the Durand Line to buy food, was hit by the avalanche in the Wara Gorgia area of the district.
Attaullah, a resident of the locality, told Pajhwok Afghan News the incident took place on Sunday evening when the individuals wanted to go to Pakistan’s Bajaur district.
He said at least 15 dead bodies had been pulled out with the help of residents. Efforts are ongoing to find the others.
