PARAKH (Pajhwok): A landmine explosion targeted a security forces vehicle in central Panjsher province, but caused no casualties, police said on Monday.
However, some local people claimed that four people were killed in the incident that took place in Parandah area in the capital of Panjsher province on Monday morning.
Mulavi Dad Mohammad Batar, Panjsher police chief, told Pajhwok Afghan News, “It is not a concerning issue, it was a simple landmine attached to a tree on roadside, no one was hurt in the blast, but there was also some propaganda…”
Abdul Hamid Khorasani, deputy police chief of Panjsher, said that a ranger vehicle of security forces was targeted by a landmine, but it caused no casualties.
However, a local resident, who did not want to be named, claimed that four security personnel were been killed in the blast. The resident said gunshots were also heard after the explosion and he fled the area.
Another resident of the province also made similar claim.
