KABUL (Pajhwok): Prime Minister Mullah Mohammad Hassan Akhund has held discussions with Uzbekistan’s Deputy Prime Minister Sardor Umarzakov.

Abdul Salam Hanafi, deputy PM, Amir Khan Muttaqi, foreign minister, and Nooruddin Azizi, minister of commerce, were also present at Tuesday’s meeting.

A statement from the prime minister’s office said enhanced cooperation and execution of some key projects came up for discussion with the Uzbek delegation, led by Umarzakov.

The visiting deputy prime minister believed Afghanistan could play an important in connecting Central Asia with South Asia. He stressed the need for taking steps to launch joint projects.
