JALALABAD (Pajhwok): The acting agriculture minister on Sunday said the government had stepped up efforts to reclaim state-owned lands and rehabilitate barren lands in the province.
He said plantation of orchards on 6,000 acres of land belonging to the canal department in Nangarhar was nearing completion.
According to agriculture officials, the orchards have been given to a number of contractors for a period of five years to create orchards and maintain them in the future.
