LASHKARGAH (Pajhwok): Acting Minister of Information and Culture Mullah Khairullah Khairkhwa says serious attention is being paid to the promotion of the Islamic culture and preservation of national heritage.
Khairkhwa made the remarks at a press conference in Lashkargah, the capital of southern Helmand province, on Saturday.
Zabihullah Mujahid, deputy ministerial of information and government spokesman, promised ancient monuments, which were under threat of destruction, would be repaired.
Mujahid said the purpose of their trip to Helmand was to inspect historical monuments in the province.
He affirmed the government’s commitment to taking concrete measures to preserve the monuments.
