MAZAR-I-SHARIF (Pajhwok): In Mazar-i-Sharif, the capital of northern Balkh province, a woman has set up a garment centre where she sells clothes and other women learn tailoring skill.
She told Pajhwok Afghan News that this centre was created for women who were staying at home due to Covid-19 or political changes.
“These women stayed at home after political changes but now they are back to work due to my initiative and cooperation from Mazar-i-Sharif Municipality,” she said.
She said 10 women were involved in production and 30 others were helping her in tailoring.
Safia, is a student of Arabic literature and she is learning tailoring in this centre. She said it was necessary for women to cooperate family members financially.
Zahra Sediqi teaches other women how to sew clothes. She said after recent political changes, many men lost their jobs so women have to cooperate to resolve financial woes of their families.
She is sewing clothes in this centre and helps her family.
