KABUL (Pajhwok): The Salang highway, connection Kabul with northern provinces, was closed for traffic due to heavy snowfall and storm on Tuesday, an official said.
Abdullah Obaid, the highway maintenance commander, told Pajhwok Afghan News the key route was closed at 4:00am in order to avoid traffic accidents.
Obaid said the highway would stay shut for traffic for two days. He asked passengers to avoid traveling the road until the weather improved.
