PESHAWAR (Pajhwok): Three suspected terrorists, including the main handler of a deadly suicide attack on a mosque in Peshawar, have been killed.

The terrorists were killed during an operation in a far-flung area of Pakistan’s northwestern Khyber district, bordering Afghanistan.

At least 64 worshippers had been killed and over 190 others injured in the bombing at the Koocha Risaldar mosque last week.

The Islamic State group claimed responsibility for the deadly assault.

Counter-Terrorism Department, police and intelligence personnel raided a house in the Ghu Reza area of Jamrud sub-district late on Tuesday night.

Dawn reported on Wednesday a terrorist inside the house opened fire on members of the raiding party.

“Three terrorists, identified as Abdul Wajid, Muzaffar Shah and Muhammad Tariq, were killed in the exchange of fire,” the newspaper added.

Investigators have reportedly identified the suicide bomber as Ihsanullah — alias Abdullah — an Afghan hailing from Babu Ghari area and living in Aabshar Colony of Peshawar.
