Child rescued, abductor detained in Herat

KABUL (Pajhwok): A child has been rescued from his kidnappers and one of the abductors arrested and a second one was killed during a clash with security forces in western Herat province, the spy service said on Sunday.

The child was kidnapped in Herat city last week.

The intelligence office tweeted that intelligence operative during an operation had rescued a child named Arshad in Herat.

The source wrote that one of the kidnappers was arrested and a second one was killed during a clash. Arshad was reunited with his family.

The father of the child in a video clip posted by intelligence office said: “My son was kidnapped last week but intelligence operatives rescued my son and punished the kidnappers.”
