UN chief urges end to gender-based violence worldwide

KABUL (Pajhwok): UN Secretary-General António Guterres has said one out of three women has directly experienced violence worldwide.

On his Twitter handle, Guterres said UN was working with governments to strengthen laws and regulations to better protect women and girls’ rights asking for an end to gender-based violence.

“1 in 3 women worldwide has directly experienced violence. The @UN is working with governments to strengthen laws & regulations to better protect women & girls. We must end the scourge of gender-based violence now.”
