KABUL (Pajhwok): The Afghanistan Journalists and Media Federation says 21 cases of violence against journalists have been registered during the current month.
Mir Ali Asghar Akbarzada, a member of the federation, said the incidents included threats, humiliation and arrests of journalists.
Akbarzada added one journalist was humiliated in Khost and one arrested each in Nangarhar and Paktia. Seven journalists were briefly arrested in Kandahar and 11 in Kabul.
He said five media outlets in Kabul, Kandahar and Laghman provinces had closed down due to financial crises.
