KABUL (Pajhwok): Over 2,000 Covid-19 cases were reported in China on Wednesday, the highest daily tally since the start of the pandemic, media reports say.
Despite being under lockdown, Shanghai saw a dramatic surge in coronavirus cases.
China, where the coronavirus was first detected in Wuhan in late 2019, is among the last remaining places.
China recorded 20,472 infections on Wednesday, the National Health Commission said in a statement. However, there were no new deaths, it added.
