JALALABAD (Pajhwok): Officials of Khalid bin Waleed Corps in eastern region on Tuesday said that efforts were being made to strengthen checkpoints and military bases along the Durand Line in the eastern zone of the country.
Officials say construction of roads leading to checkpoints and other essential facilities will begin with budget from the Ministry of Defense.
MulaviWahidullahMohammadi, spokesman for Khalid binWaleed Corps in the eastern zone, told Pajhwok Afghan News that the corps commander, Mulavi Abdul Basir Abu Dujana, visited security checkpoints along the Durand Line in Nangarhar, Kunar and Nuristan provinces on Monday and today.
During his visit, Dujana called on local officials to enhance security near the Durand Line, strengthen checkpoints and build roads in the area after receiving funds from the Ministry of Defense.
