Russia claims destroying Ukrainian drones, tanks

KABUL (Pajhwok): Russian forces have destroyed hundreds of Ukrainian aircraft unmanned aerial vehicles and thousands of tanks.

A spokesman for the Defence Ministry in Moscow said that Russian troops had eliminated 132 aircraft, 105 helicopters, 456 unmanned aerial vehicles, 2,213 tanks and other armored vehicles as well as 249 multiple rocket launchers since the beginning of the conflict.

Major-General Igor Konashenkov told reporters on Friday that seven Ukrainian military facilities were eliminated in precision missile strikes on Thursday night.

TASS news agency quoted him as saying: “Throughout the night, air-launched precision missiles eliminated seven enemy sites, including a Tochka-U tactical missile launcher and a temporary base of a Ukrainian nationalist formation …”

He added Ukrainian military hardware and armaments were destroyed near Dergachi, Novoyelizavetovka and Povstanskoye.

Missile/artillery and fuel depots were wiped out near populated areas of Nikolayev and Parutino, the spokesman said.

Konashenkov continued the Russian troops also shot down a Su-27 fighter of the Ukrainian Air Force in the Kharkov region.
