Atta Mohammad Noor’s nephew among 2 killed in Balkh firefight

MAZAR-I-SHARIF (Pajhwok): Two people, including former Balkh Governor Atta Mohammad Noor’s nephew, have been killed during an exchange of fire with security forces in Mazar-i-Sharif, an official said on Friday.

Security personnel and Noor’s militia men engaged in firefight on Thursday evening in the Baba Qamar area of Mazar-i-Sharif, the provincial capital.

As a result, he said Suhail Zmari, the nephew of Atta Mohammad Noor and another militia man were killed.

Security force took over the site of incident and recovered three Cerenkov, a rocket and a pistol.

He refused social media claims that security forces suffered casualties during the fire fight.
