KABUL (Pajhwok): The British ambassador to Qatar has welcomed the ban on poppy cultivation in Afghanistan, saying his country does not support the armed opposition against the new Afghan government.
A high-level delegation, led by Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation Mullah Hamidullah Akhundzada, arrived in Qatar on Friday.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the objective behind the visit was to discuss with Qatar technical issues related to the contract of five airports in Afghanistan.
Abdul Qahar Balkhi, spokesman for MoFA, tweeted Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi met Hugo Shorter, the British ambassador for Afghanistan.
