Ashraf Ghani terms current situation dangerous, calls for national dialogue

KABUL (Pajhwok): Former President Ashraf Ghani has said Afghanistan was facing dangerous situation and national dialogue was the only way forward.

In his Eid-ul-Fitr message published on his Facebook page, Ghani stressed the way forward was national dialogue.

“Current situation is full of dangers and the way forward to resolve issues was national dialogue. There is need that all Afghans should talk about national consensus for a prosperous and neutral Afghanistan. All should promise to work for the reconstruction and prosperity of Afghanistan,” he said.

Ghani said Afghanistan entered yet another critical phase of the history, adding that: “If there is emphasis over power monopoly  situation will further deteriorate.”

He said: “Afghans could not be forced and we should learn lesson from the history.”
