JALALABAD (Pajhwok): A man in eastern Nangarhar province has injured his wife and four children with a knife.
The incident took place in the Chaparhar district of the province late on Tuesday, a local resident said.
Nasim Khan told Pajhwok Afghan News an inhabitant of Lalmi area wounded his family members, wife and children due to economic problems.
But district police chief Badruddin Chaparhari said the incident was in no way linked to economic hardships.
He said police had arrested the man named Hezbullah, who had confessed to committing the crime after consuming expired medicine which disturbed his mental health.
