KABUL (Pajhwok): World Bank (WB) has approved $150 million aid to the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH), an official said on Friday.
MoPH Spokesperson Javid Hazeez told Pajhwok Afghan News $150 million assistance was agreed between Afghan health ministry and WB officials during a meeting in Geneva back in February
“On Thursday a formal agreement between the two sides was signed through which the WB approved $150 to Afghanistan’s health sector.”
The amount would be spent on medicine, fight against Covid-19, measles and on the purchase of medicines and equipment.
This comes that recently the European Union provided 34 tonnes of medical supplies to Afghanistan in aid.
