JALALABAD (Pajhwok): Security forces at a check point opened fire at a wedding procession in eastern Nangarhar province, injuring the bride and the groom’s brother, officials said on Friday.
Security officials said the shooters had been arrested and were being investigated at police headquarters.
Mohammad Akbar, a local resident of Surkhrod district in Nangarhar, told Pajhwok Afghan News that security forces opened fire on a wedding car at a checkpoint in the Ghaibi Baba area of Hijrat village last evening.
He added that the bride and groom's brother were injured in the incident.
