TIRINKOT (Pajhwok): A senior teacher in central Uruzgan province has paved the way for educating hundreds of boys and girls with his personal resources.
Ghawsuddin Jalalzai, 65, travels some 25 kilometres, carrying his motorbike, to teach children in the Balochi area of Tirinkot, the provincial capital.
In an interview with Pajhwok Afghan News, the retired teacher said that around 3,000 families were living in Balochi area. Deprived of education, the area children do not have a single school.
Jalalzai said two months ago he tried to establish an education centre in the locality following consultations with inhabitants.
