KABUL (Pajhwok): Amanullah Ghalib, former director of the Barishna Sherkat (power utility) returned to Afghanistan from the United Kingdom Tuesday as a result of the reconciliation commission's efforts.
Due to the regime change in the country on August 15, a number of Afghan politicians and former government officials went abroad and some have already been living abroad.
However, the cabinet of the caretaker government established and approved the Reconciliation Commission to contact and encourage Afghan personalities living abroad to return to their country.
A spokesman for the commission, Ahmadullah Wasiq, wrote on his Twitter account that Amanullah Ghalib, a former director of the power company, had also returned to the country.
He told Pajhwok that Ghalib had returned to the country from Britain.
"We welcome him and will use his experience and advice in this regard," Wasiq wrote.
The commission had earlier said that as a result of its efforts, Intezar Khadim, head of the National Security Council's Peace and Civilian Protection, and Hassan Mubarak Azizi, former acting minister of transport, General Dawlat Waziri, a former spokesman for the Ministry of Defense, have returned to Afghanistan.
