Kunar’s 700-kilowatt power plant inactive since 2 years

ASADABAD (Pajhwok): A 700-kilowatt power plant established during the time of Sardar Mohammad Dawood Khan has been inactive for the past two years in eastern Kunar province, an official said Thursday.

Shahabuddin Yasar, director of the power utility, told Pajhwok: “The Asadabad power plant has been inactive due to technical issues and we have brought necessary tools from the capital to help restore the plant.”

He said with the reactivation of the power plant most of the areas of the Asadabad would be supplied electricity.

Haroon, a resident of Makli area of the city, said the homes of local people would receive electricity in addition to public sector offices if the government restored the plant.
