KHOST CITY (Pajhwok): Residents of southeastern Khost province were able to extinguish a fire that erupted in pine nuts and walnut forests, an official said on Monday.
Qari Abdul Sabour, director of agriculture, irrigation and livestock, told Pajhwok Afghan News how the fire broke out was yet to be ascertained but efforts were underway to stop its spread to other parts.
Shabbir Ahmad Usmani, director of information and culture, told Pajhwok they did not have advanced tools to extinguish the fire in the forests completely.
