KABUL (Pajhwok): Former assistant national security advisor (NSA) Abdul Hakim Noorzai and ex-Ulema Council member Maulvi Abdul Khabir Chichka have returned to the country, the Reconciliation Commission on Thursday.
The panel tweeted: “As a result of the commission’s efforts, former assistant NSA Abdul Hakim Noorzai returned to Afghanistan this morning.”
It wrote: “Former Meshrano Jirga advisor and Ulema Council member Abdul Khabir Chichka has also returned to Afghanistan…”
A number of former government figures have been contacted and the return of more personalities to Afghanistan is expected. The commission did not give more details.
