KABUL (Pajhwok): Russia says the issue of recognising the Taliban administration in Afghanistan is not on its current agenda.
President Vladimir Putin’s spokesman Dmitry Peskov said: “It is not on the agenda. We have said this many times. It is useless to make any forecasts.”
Peskov’s remarks came at a news conference in Moscow on Wednesday, a day after Putin’s special envoy for Afghanistan Zamir Kabulov hinted at recognising the Taliban government if it brought inclusivity to its administration.
TASS news agency quoted Peskov as saying humanitarian problems had prompted many countries to stay in contact with Taliban representatives.
