LASHKARGAH (Pajhwok): A fire broke out at a shop in Lashkargah, the capital of southern Helmand province, last night, reducing to ashes goods worth one million afghanis, an official said on Saturday.
Deputy information and culture director Mualvi Mohammad Qasim Riyaz told Pajhwok Afghan News that the fire erupted in a shop in Omari market in the first police district of Lashkargah.
Without saying what caused the fire, he said fire fighters arrived at the scene on time and doused the fire, preventing other shops from being engulfed.
